JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific projects related to agriculture insurance. This role ensures that project goals are met within the specified time frame and budget while maintaining the quality and scope of the project. This role is also responsible for supporting partnerships and fundraising efforts for opportunities in Tanzania.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Project Oversight, Planning and Initiation
Collaborate with stakeholders to define the project objectives, deliverables, and boundaries.
Oversee a project team to execute the project/assignment.
Develop a detailed project plan that includes timelines, resource allocation, budget, risk management, and deliverables.

Organizing Resources
Identify and allocate necessary resources such as personnel, equipment, and materials.
Assemble the right project team to execute.
Engage stakeholders to understand their expectations and inform them about project progress.

Execution and Monitoring
Oversee the implementation of the project plan, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within scope.
Monitor project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and project management tools.
Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards and adhere to specifications.
Anticipate potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate or avoid them.

Budget and Cost Management
Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently, and expenses stay within budget
Regular financial reporting to stakeholders.  

Communication and Reporting
Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders, including project status, risks, and changes.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, project plans, and status reports.

Project Closure
Ensure all project deliverables are completed and meet the defined criteria.
Conduct a post-project review to identify lessons learned.
Transfer project deliverables to the client or end-user and ensure all contractual obligations are met.
Finalize and archive project documentation for future reference and organizational learning.

Partnerships
Scout partnership opportunities in Tanzania and liaise with the partnerships team to pursue and engage.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in project management, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the agriculture insurance industry.
Strong understanding of agriculture insurance products and market dynamics.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
