George Kuria Appointed CEO of ACRE Africa

ACRE Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of George Kuria as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2019.

George joins ACRE from Sanlam, where he was Chief Executive Officer of General Insurance. He brings over 18 years’ experience in a range of senior roles in the insurance industry. These include Principal Officer at Kenyan Alliance, Head of Retail and Mass Distribution for UAP and Divisional Director, Insurance Brokers with AON Kenya. George has a proven track record of achieving revenue, profit and business growth objectives. He also brings to ACRE Africa extensive experience in strategic management, with deep understanding of critical business drivers in the insurance industry, key among them being customer focus.

As ACRE Africa CEO, George will provide strategic and managerial leadership to achieve revenue, profit and business growth. He will take the lead in building partnerships with local regulators, insurers, clients, administrators and key influencers to deliver on customer commitments. Success here will help ACRE Africa achieve its mission to provide farmers with appropriate insurance solutions that shield them against weather-related risks.

George holds an MBA from Strathmore Business School, a Bachelor in Commerce (Insurance) from the University of Nairobi, and a Diploma from the UK’s Chartered Institute of Insurance. He is an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Kenya.
